The 2015 Turner Prize is being hosted at Tramway, Glasgow – it is the first time the exhibition has been held in Scotland – long overdue.
Lovely to be invited to the opening. Doug and I were truly spoilt as we were able to stay at the gorgeous CitzenM Hotel, right beside the Art school, a very, very civilised experience, I have to say.
I was just so happy with our very cosy, ‘capsule style’ bedroom – it honestly has everything you need: most of the space is just a huge bed, where you can snuggle down and watch movies on demand; there is gorgeous shower room enclosed in a stunning, opaque glass, softly lit pod, well stocked with fragrant soaps and shampoos; there are bedside controls for the lighting and blinds and most importantly to me, in spite of it’s city centre location with great views, our room was utterly quiet,…
The public spaces in the hotel, by contrast, are spacious and friendly: the idea is that you retreat to your room, but the rest of the hotel is designed for meeting and connecting.
I was invited to a Blogger event, starting with a drinks reception in the bar
Sushi and canapes were served before the Turner Prize and we were whisked off to dinner afterwards for more chat and a delicious meal at Stravaigins…
As for the Turner Prize itself… I think that is another blog post!
