I am going to leave you with a fabulous Xmas story from Royal Deeside, just published in the current issue of Country Homes & Interiors.
The owner, Gillian Alexander, has undertaken a beautiful renovation of her home.
She has chosen a restricted palette, using a combination of greys and metallics, to stunning effect, creating a wonderful array of magical Christmas moments….
Gorgeous stars and baubles from Cox & Cox have been beautifully arranged in her otherwise, highly functional cook’s kitchen
The real star of the shoot was, of course, her gorgeous Rhodesian Ridgeback, Lola, so well behaved and happy to pose at a moment’s notice.
The stunning brass wall sculpture ‘Creation is Destruction’ is by artist, John Franzen. His work is represented in the UK by the Arusha Gallery. The golden Brass panel refers to traditional Icons and at the same time a golden mirror reflecting the narcissitic nature of an observer. The piece refers back to the idea that every form of creation has a destructive aspect.
Gillian has also chosen some beautiful pieces, such as this classic glass drinks trolley, from Lair. An Edinburgh based, mid-century furniture specialist she is continuing to work with.
A heart-stoppingly, luxurious, bathroom and dressing room have been added to the master bedroom….
