Half Term

Lovely to have a break and bring it down a notch or two…

Time is an issue that I really struggle with and I think a lot of us do. It is just so easy to think ‘ooh I’m so busy’ and feel terribly justified…

Has anyone else noticed the rampant competition us women can so easily enter into, if we are not very, very careful, about who is busiest? Who has the most ironing, shopping, paperwork, drinks parties, coffees…rare is the person who really does not enter into this popular, albeit unofficial, race.

Would any of my readers dare to stand at the school gate and explain that they had done nothing for days now – tell the world, that no, you have not had a coffee, hosted a dinner party, taken your children to a hockey/rugby/ballet championship or run a half marathon over the weekend…and you are not planning to next weekend either!

And that is on top of working…

If you think about it logically – how do we all have time for our coffees, drinks / dinner parties, rugby/hockey/ballet matches, half marathons if we are all so busy? Hmmm…

Being busy and stimulated is essential for my character – it keeps my heart beating – I enjoy my family and friends so much…I want to see them. A weekend with nothing to do is quite lonely for me, but I do need rejuvenating too and time alone blogging, sketching and painting too, is a must…

Nearby Aberlady Bay on an inky night.

The road to Gullane with a full moon.

For me, that is what half term is all about. Would love your take on the above though!
